The probability of requiring a medical evacuation is low; however, evacuations can be expensive. Comprehensive travel medical insurance is recommended, especially for those without a valid BC Care Card.
Trip participants are encouraged to check if their current medical insurance would cover evacuation costs from a remote wilderness area in British Columbia, as well as costs for medical treatment in Canada. Additional travel medical insurance is optional and recommended depending on your current coverage.
Cancellation insurance is optional and recommended. If you choose to cancel your trip, cancellation insurance could reimburse the trip price and travel expenses. In some circumstances, cancellation insurance may only be purchased within a day or two of paying the trip deposit.
Some cancellation insurance policies may also reimburse travel expenses if Butterfly Tours must cancel a trip. In the unlikely event that we cancel a trip, registered guests have the choice of a free transfer to another trip, or a full refund of their payment to Butterfly Tours.
